NHS Covid-19 Stats

As all of us are all too aware, Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the UK over the first 12 months of it’s pandemic. This short animated video shows a set of important data covering this period.

The challenge

There’s a lot of data out there covering this subject, and much of it goes in to great detail. A lot of it is very interesting, but can be a bit overwhelming. This video needs to take a portion of this data and deliver it clearly and concisely so that the viewer gets a quick and well formed explanation.

The solution

We used a variety of charts and graphs, coupled up with contextualising passages of copy for each portion of data. Because the video doesn’t use a voiceover to explain what’s on screen, the copy has to be given time and space to breathe so that the viewer can not only read it, but also absorb the chart or visualisation it is paired with.
